What is the stain on the vanity?

  • Twee Wolf

I just ordered custom cabinets from Canyon Creek. The Sea Drift stain in beech is VERY similar to the cabinets in this picture. This looks like frameless cabinets, which is their Millenia line. Hope this helps!

Can someone tell us the vanity question? What is it made of?

This looks like a natural grain grey wood veneer; however, the vertical surfaces seem to have a glazed finish, so it could be either. There are lots of options to create this look - working with a designer an local millworker, you can select the finishes that would work best for your space and design.

There are many different brands that it could be and it also depends on the area you are from. My best guess is Ivory Caesarstone, but it is too hard to tell.

I think it's fine as long as the lights are not behind you, casting back shadows. We often layer lighting if makeup application is a clients requirement. These mirrors are great: electricmirror.com and cast a very pleasing glow.

The wall was prepped and blocked for hanging cabinets before installation. (Just like most upper kitchen cabinets hang on the wall and support LOTS of weight)

I have also seen a steel channel run from one wall side to the other across the front.

What is the grey paint or stain color.
We are trying to stain since I got stainable wood, but have not gotten the color we want yet, it is too blue. What do you recommend for a stain color to get it to look grey?

It looks like simple box drawer design with custom drawer fronts to match walls. Vanity top looks like a faux stone with under mount sinks. While this looks really modern and expensive, my guess is it's not that pricey.

This vanity was custom designed by AMi Design to fit the clients needs and fabricated by a local cabinetmaker.

I'm sure that this is a custom job. It looks like a frameless cabinet, which cost more than framed.

There probably is a medicine type cabinet behind the door. This looks to be part of the custom cabinetry and the door having a "touch latch" to open.

Vanities should be as long and as large as possible, and include a double sink if you can to reduce the wait time in the morning. Here, a mirrored wall allows some people to check themselves while others use the sink. And a combination of built-in drawers and open shelving for baskets means that there is accessible storage for everyone.

I love a clean counter surface. It makes your bathroom seem bigger and makes it a more relaxing place to spend time in. This is our goal.

Utilizing baskets to contain smaller items is key in keeping a clean look. The baskets used in this space coordinate nicely with the overall finishes of the bathroom without stealing the show.
