There are a couple of reason's to why these homeowners didn't want folding room in this space. One is because she doesn't fold in the laundry room she will take her basket and fold elsewhere and the other thing is because we only so much wall space and they really wanted a recycling center which is the pullout next to the sink cabinet and also a broom closet on the main level.

Shelley thank you for your comments. However, we designed this space specifically for the needs of our homeowners and considering the rest of hte home we decided to design this space as you see it. These homeonwers have another space for laundry as well if need be and she does not do her folding in this space. The couple also needed space for a broom closet ( the only available broom closet on teh main floor) which is right of the washer and dryer and a recycling space which is what the rollout is on the right of the sink cabinet.We actually did have the washer and dryer side by side and decided to change it based on the information I gave you above, for this couple this was the best functional way to design this room.

Our clients decided to re-use these washer and dryer during this remodel. So I do not have the make and model for you. We just took our dimensions from the actual units to make sure we built the cabientry to their dimensions.

Easier said than done when the washer is full of water.
We typically suggest secondary shutoffs in an accessible area, such as under the sink in this instance.

The cabinet is 27" wide by 24" deep and the sink is a Mustee 10 which is a 25" x 22" self-rimming sink.

That's most likely a type of plywood. You can get plywood looking like beadboard, or v-groove, at your local big-box home improvement store.

Im not sure what the washer/dryer make was because this homeowner had these before the remodel. However, he cabinetry opening for the laundry units was 81.5" tall x 31" wide x 32" deep.

I'm 5ft tall, and have a stacking washer/dryer. I actually need a foot stool to reach the bottom of the dryer and back of the dryer. We stacked to save space.

My partner is 5' 2" tall and reaches the inside of her GE HE2 stackable without a step-stool; she can even reach the controls which are above the dryer door just fine. We do keep a small folding step-stool in the laundry for other purposes.

The shelving in this mudroom/laundry room was built by a custom cabinetry shop that we use of all of our cabinetry needs. The cabinetry company is Christian Brothers Cabinets out of Owatonna, MN. If you live near them or any other custom cabinetry contractor please contact them and they should be able to help you out with designing something for your own space.

The bottom of the top shelf is approximately 66" off the finished floor.
The top of the unit is approximately 81 1/4" tall
The bench is approximately 126 1/4" wide (including bench under the drawers)
The top shelf is approximately 105" wide

There is an access panel in the right tall cabinet so that is how they can get access to the dryer vent.

The length of the bench is 105" sitting 24" of the floor. Then each open space above the hooks are approx. 24" each. The overall height of the built in is 82 1/2". The full height cabinet on the left side of the bench is 21 1/4" wide x 82 1/2". Please let us know if you have any further questions.
