Featured Reviews for Hardscaping Contractors in Harrisburg

Karaki Landscaping
Hardscaping Contractors in Harrisburg
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsFebruary 7, 2022
“I’m 79 and really not able to keep up with the proper maintenance of my yard. I reached out to Karaki Landscaping last year and have been very happy with their service. Nothing is done that I don’t want, so no pressure to apply chemicals, things are just maintained. And when problems are spotted, like the dead tree that could have been a hazard, Faris told me about it and took care of it. I also had serious overgrowth of invasive vines and was able to have a crew come and restore my yard to respectability. I look forward to another season of maintenance without hassle or pressure and polite, efficient workers. What’s not to love?”
New Outlook Landscaping Inc.
Hardscaping Contractors in Harrisburg
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsAugust 29, 2017
“New Outlook Landscaping did an excellent job for us in creating a new back patio and landscaping a challenging, shaded area. The project involved patio and landscape design, removal of an existing paver patio that was in need of repair, and building a new paver patio, fire pit area, retaining wall, stone walkway and landscaping throughout. The end result is beautiful. They were a pleasure to work with. Would highly recommend Luke and his team to anyone looking for great service, value and results.”
Bill Davis Landscaping LLC
Hardscaping Contractors in Harrisburg
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJune 28, 2017
“We hired Bill to put a paver style patio on the back side of our house. Bill was very helpful in taking my rough drawing and turning it into something better than I had imagined. He was great at making suggestions and was very responsive and patient as we worked through the process. Bill and his team worked hard and worked together well. They had our patio done and ready to use in just 3 evenings including fixing the landscaping around the patio and putting down new grass seed. The quality and uniqueness of his work is amazing. We love our new patio and we spend much more time out there than we ever did with just the deck. Bill was so personable that my young daughter was sad she didn't get to give him a hug before he left. You won't be disappointed in hiring Bill for your hardscaping needs.”

Landscaper FAQs
The duration of a hardscaping project can vary widely depending on the projectʼs complexity, size, material availability, and weather conditions. Smaller projects like a simple patio can take a few days to a week, while larger projects like a complete outdoor kitchen or extensive retaining walls can take several weeks to months. An experienced contractor will provide a realistic timeline upfront, factoring in planning, design approvals, and potential unforeseen delays.
Your hardscaping contractor is a valuable resource in selecting materials that are durable, suitable for your climate, and aesthetically pleasing, ensuring that the design complements your homeʼs exterior and landscape. They can inform you about the latest trends, such as sustainable and eco-friendly materials, or timeless designs that maintain their appeal. However, trends should be balanced with personal preference and long-term practicality.
Homeowners should clarify their budget, design preferences, and functionality needs. Researching and having inspirational images or a vision board can help communicate your ideas to the contractor effectively. Itʼs also crucial to clear the project area of personal items and, if necessary, secure permits or ensure the contractor handles permit acquisition. Discussing logistics like project access, noise, and dust management upfront can prevent misunderstandings.
Effective communication between homeowners and contractors is key to addressing challenges. Setting clear expectations, having a detailed contract, and establishing regular updates can mitigate issues. Challenges such as weather delays, unexpected ground conditions, or material shortages require flexibility and understanding from both parties. An experienced contractor will manage these challenges professionally, keeping the project on track as much as possible.
When meeting with a potential contractor, inquire about their experience with projects similar to yours, their process from design to completion, timeline and budget estimation, and how they handle unexpected challenges. Itʼs also important to ask for references, certification, insurance details, and how communication will be handled throughout the project. This ensures transparency and sets the foundation for a successful partnership.
Yes, many contractors now offer eco-friendly hardscaping options, such as permeable paving, recycled materials, and locally sourced stones, which reduce environmental impact and can improve your homeʼs sustainability. Discussing these options with your contractor can reveal opportunities to incorporate green practices into your project, from reducing runoff with permeable surfaces to selecting materials that require less energy to produce and transport.
