Center dining table on patio door or not

We are working on an open concept kitchen and dining room remodel. The dining area looks out to a lake with an 8 foot sliding patio door. We have a 3 foot wall to the left of the patio door. We are waffling on whether to do the traditional approach and center a table on the patio door or put a bench (built in or not) against the left side of the room such that the table only blocks the non-sliding portion of the door. We are also waffling on doing a counter height table or not. The concern of centering the table on the patio door is that the table blocks the view (even more so if counter height) and people have to walk around the table to get to the door. The concern with the bench is will it look weird to have the table and the associated dining light off to the side.

Do a regular height table with benches so you do not block the view,the view is the most important

Those high table are going out. Not comfortable. Table does not need to be centered to door. But should be centered if a hanging light.

Bumping this as well. Debating whether to center the table which will narrow the passage between the dining table and the kitchen island (seating on both sides). If I center the dining table to the patio door - I willnonly have 2.5 ft of space in this higj traffic area. If not - that will give ample of room in that corridor, however the dining table will not be centered to the patio door (4 panels - the two middle one slides in the opposite direction to open to the deck). That will also force me to install the dining table pendant light not in the center of the ceiling and that ceiling already have 4 recessed lights in the 4 corners.
