Need help with paint color for brick
March 24, 2013 in Design Dilemma
Relatives house- they have pale yellow siding and painted white brick underneath. The roof and siding will stay as is but they want to repaint the brick. Any ideas for color? Thanks!

My first questions is always what colors are the houses on the right and left of this house. What state are you in?

Dove Gray on the brick - don't go a lot darker since the roof is so light. Shutters at big window should be pulled since wainscot prevents proper proportions. Like

Paint the trim and the eaves a mid-tone gray and paint the sashes of all the windows and the front door / screen door in a muted aqua. Trim like
Front doors / sashes of windows

Red brick chimney ideally should also be painted gray.

The Color People
this is the kind of thing one can only do in person unless you know what the exact paint colors the siding, trim and brick are now.
