someone recently told me to wipe oil onto stainless steel surfaces (after you clean them with soap) and wipe it down with a soft cloth ... then you won't see the oil from finger prints.

it was a refrigerator repairman, who claimed that the Viking Stainless Steel spray (which I've never used) was nothing but oil.

has anyone ever tried this?

wd-40 oil on a clean cloth works wonderfull

Use a light spray of Pam, and wipe with a paper towel.....works great and smells much better than WD40...

Easy-off one step stainless steel cleaner and polish is absolutely the best. It doesn't streak and helps prevent fingerprints and water marks.

thanks for all the great ideas. I just tried the wd-40 on my dishwasher front, and it worked great (but does have a strong smell as schmoopie commented).

I'll be trying the other two suggestions as well after a trip to the store.
