it's gonna be tough to have "curb appeal" when you can't see the house....get out the chainsaw..

I agree a chainsaw is needed. An Asian inspired garden would be nice with a thread leaf Japanese maple.

I'm guessing you said "won't remove any trees" because others might have suggested removing the large evergreen that's right in front of your home. I am of the opinion that the evergreen shouldn't be there either...perhaps it could be relocated over to the right side of the house with a tree spade. It would then frame the view of your house and look very attractive.
