Pros & Cons of 10" toilet rough in versus 12" toilet rough in

Currently replacing a standard toilet for a 12" rough-in but the original rough-in was not properly done in the slab which meant the toilet tank was very tight to the wall and lid did not fit properly. Also discovered mold on the wall because of the condensation. So do we settle with a toilet for a 10" rough-in or break thru the slab and move the drain or just stay with a toilet for 12" rough-in and be tight against the wall. The options for 10" seem limited.
