The chair isn’t right there. Repeat the fridge with something a similar size.

That looks like a prime spot for built-in that would house the tv and the cooler. The cooler especially stands out and would look better behind cabinet doors. Good luck!

Thank you all for these very helpful comments, I knew I would get some good ideas. I have found a place to move the fridge and will post a photo of the area with a slightly different arrangement.

If your seating doesn't appear in these pictures, then I'm guessing your TV screen isn't nearly big enough for proper viewing.

Your sister is right. That's why I'm curious about the rest of the room and if you can get your TV and viewing space closer together.

Wow does that plant transform the space. Maybe up a rug here as a reading and plant area and get the TV closer to the other seating in this room?

Potentially look into getting a longer, lower TV console. If you can't do that then I'd look at doing a tall plant on one side and the chair with a piece of art over it on the other side.

Your updated photo looks a lot better but where is the seating for watching TV? Must be too far away. Perhaps if we can see the entire room a better layout could be worked out?

I am hoping you can post some other images of the space. I would make the TV nook into a conversation book nook with a couple seats and some lovely books. I love the color you chose for the wall. Gorgeous.

OK everyone, here's an updated photo. New TV console (I moved the buffet to another room), bigger TV, and more tweaking of the decor. Yes, the seating is across the room from the TV. The larger TV is definitely better. I agree with making this area a reading nook in the future but it needs to be a TV room for now.
