designlonging's ideas
I'm someone who constantly tweeks her living space, so the idea of having a blackboard as easily changeable decor highly appeals to me. They now make really fun, bright chalk-like pens that show up beautifully on chalkboards--they're common in coffeehouses like the ones where my roommates work--and they would fit nicely with my love for color :)
I don't even like darker paints.....I'm not really sure what it is about this that keeps me coming back to it. Maybe the way the grey makes the colors really pop. Maybe the fact that it's on the homepage. Or maybe it's because the individual pieces are all so strong yet work well together. Who knows. I just like it.
Swing idea is fun, but I really like the teal of the coffe table
More chalkboard....can't get enough!
that silver cabinet is incredible....and I love it in conjunction with the warm wood table and chairs
I like the overall color scheme but especially the giant artwork....lately I've been dabbling with the idea of dripping paint to be used in decor.
Open, airy, beautiful, serene. Yummy.
Such an easy DIY...
The brick is striking.....and my university's library has those exact same chairs, which I just discovered go for anywhere between $500 and $1500 on ebay....sheesh.
Reminds me of a sixth-grade science projects showing all the planet. Weirdly appealing.
Just this past weekend, I threw the dress I was wearing onto my bed in a rush to change clothes. Turns out the dress is the exact color of that back purple wall, and my bedspread is a beautiful grassy green. Even in my rush, I noticed how gorgeous the two colors looked together. Something to think about...
Love the big swooping arches....such a nice airy space!
Cool lamps. Cool bedside table. Cool blue color. Just a lot to love here :)
Only in my dreams...
SO many things to love. Not only am I drooling over the beautiful table and chairs and the fountains....this makes me want to scratch my traveler's itch like no other...
Ooooh I love the mix of beautiful wood and modern design on this fireplace
I like the grouping of photos and the comfy yet modern look of the sofa
I'm a fan of the hanging candles over the table....
I love travelling....and I really really like the idea of collecting globes...
I'm not even sure what it is about this space....but it's appealing.
In my fantasy home, I have a pool like this.

This designer displayed her collection creatively and neatly--it doesn't look cluttered but she repurposes several items (mason jars as candles, "curio cabinet", etc)
Blackboard door as design element
simple minimalist shelves of pretty wood
Love this color green, especially with dark wood
I like the grey color of the walls and how it sets off the architectural details. Great mirrors too.
Mirrors on wall are Ikea mirrors, painted and attached next to each other.
Tree outline artwork...easy to do
Love that color of green curtains! This room just feels deluxe, like something you'd see at a really really nice hotel
Nurseries don't have to be in pink or blue....this could easily be turned into a home office once the baby outgrows the small space
I'm normally a modern/traditionalist but I love this black ornate mirror
Easy, cheap artwork--stretch fabric scraps over canvasses
LOVE silver and purple together--it always looks rich, especially in velvet
I haven't been able to track this decal down, but I think you could recreate it with contact paper possibly?
Cute bathroom storage
I can't get enough of this room. Love the textures, love the moody painting with a lot of visual weight. I'd move into this place if I could.
To make this look a little less thrift-store, you could cover the books all in the same type of paper--using a whole roll of gift wrap will still only cost about $3 and it would make the space more visually appealing.
There's a lot going on here but somehow it all works because the major pieces are colorful with the same amount of intensity across the board.
Love love LOVE that brightly painted body sculpture! Usually you see these in a stuffy, formal room, but here it looks modern and cheeky because of the color
Half a roll of wallpaper makes a nice headboard
A flea market tableand chairs look fun and cheerful when given a cheap coat of spray paint
Boring furniture can be jazzed up just by someone scribbling with Sharpies
This room is beautiful because it is clean, bright, and has the pops of color that I look for in design. Love the steel cage chairs painted white!
