NW Contemporary Kitchen

Contemporary Kitchen, Portland

Our goal for this kitchen was to create a unique contemporary style that would meet the needs of a gourmet cook with a large family. Since the kitchen is visible from the front door, we designed a hood that would be both aesthetically pleasing & functional. Featuring local craftsmanship, we fabricated the hood with a local metal worker who worked in recycled aluminum. To accommodate the ventilation needs of the 36” Wolf Pro-style Range top and the radius front of the custom hood, we chose the Best by Broan PIK 33 insert with the P8 blower. The ventilation power (800 cfm) of the insert works great with the 16,000 btu power of the range top. We had a direct path to the exterior of the house (the ducting total length was 5 feet with no bends). The client enjoys the convenient controls and halogen lighting system that the inset offers and cleaning the professional baffle filter system is a breeze since they fit right in the Fisher & Paykel dish drawer. Finishes & Products:  Quartersawn Cherry Slab-Style cabinets.  Custom marble and granite mosaic backsplash  Subzero 650 refrigerator  Wolf wall oven and convection/microwave  Wolf 36” range top  Kohler 33” trough sink  4” thick endgrain maple butcherblock on island  Venetian Plaster over existing brick.
