Often, less is more. Take this landscape design composed of climbing roses, hydrangeas, and lilies surrounding a bluestone terrace. This small, suburban garden feels both expansive and intimate. Japanese forest grass softens the edge of the terrace and adds just enough of a modern look to make the garden’s owners, urban transplants, happy. “My husband and I were looking for an outdoor space that had a secret-garden feeling,” says homeowner Anne Lillis-Ruth. “We’ve had fun adding furniture, antique planters, and a stone fountain to [landscape designer] Robert Welsch’s beautiful landscape. The white and green plantings provide the perfect backdrop to my collection of colorful table linens, glassware, and china. We love our garden!”
Dean Fisher loved it, too. “The setting is so lovely and relaxed. It evokes the south of France, with its intimate scale and the integration of house and patio through the use of the vines and other plantings.”

Westover Landscape Design, Inc. This needs to be ordered and installed by a high quality fencing professional. It is custom cedar lattice stained with a light wash, height is 6 feet, posts are 8 feet, with two feet buried in cement for support. Post caps are also cedar.
We purchased from a high volume wholesale manufacture who sells only to the trade.
kobley I had a fence similar to this made by a carpenter. The lattice was done with 2"x2". The look was a little more open than this picture. I also used a semi-transparent stain. If you use 2"x2" it should be quite durable. Staining the wood also helps.
Westover Landscape Design, Inc. Hello do, the terrace is set in stone dust on a soft base. The stone was laser cut and has very tight joints. Very easy care and permeability. A standard base of item 4 and gravel was used as the base with stone dust for the joints. Good luck with your project. Robert
Glenna Partridge Garden Design I have an example of a fountain I planted for a client that is a bit unexpected and I think would be in keeping with the "look".

Lattice is a great option for separating your yard or patio from the neighbors. It's more open than a wall or fence but still offers plenty of privacy.
11. Add a freestanding umbrella. On an uncovered patio, an umbrella is a must. The freestanding type gives you much more flexibility to place it where it is needed, and will work with any table or chairs.
