Coeur D’Alene Residence on Lake Coeur D’Alene Contemporary Deck, Seattle

Photo: Shaun Cammack
The goal of the project was to create a modern log cabin on Coeur D’Alene Lake in North Idaho. Uptic Studios considered the combined occupancy of two families, providing separate spaces for privacy and common rooms that bring everyone together comfortably under one roof. The resulting 3,000-square-foot space nestles into the site overlooking the lake. A delicate balance of natural materials and custom amenities fill the interior spaces with stunning views of the lake from almost every angle.
The whole project was featured in Jan/Feb issue of Design Bureau Magazine.

I contacted Kawneer about a window like this. They absolutely do not provide windows for use in residences. Just in case anyone was wondering....

Strange, we are currently involved in several residential projects utilizing Kawneer systems. It may be a regional supplier/distributor issue.

Love this installation but I do not see a bottom track at the window? - The counter top seems to extend out in one piece. without a visible track/ horizontal frame at the bottom of the window ..so I was wondering how this works. Awesome idea just curious about the details

I really need to know this also. We have a "temporary NEW window" until I can figure out how to do this. I really like how functional it looks.
