cindyjp the bowl might be an Aletha Soule design (Sebastopol. CA). Her website is soulestudio.com. The matte brown glaze has been discontinued, but if you email her, she may still have a few pieces hidden in the warehouse. Good luck!
David Lauer Photography The vertical pieces were wood 2x4s already in the wall. We added 2x4 horizontally to make an interesting design and then applied thin drywall to all the edges. Prime and paint!
5. Play peek-a-boo. This former closet turned entry boasts a creative alternative to hanging artwork. Geometric cutouts, painted in complementary colors, allow guests a peek into the neighboring living room upon entry.
Cut-outs. Consider cutting openings into your walls to look into the next room — open space always helps an area feel lighter and airier. For a kick of added interest, paint the insides of the cutouts; they double as an artistic piece.
Here is a reconfigured entry (formerly a closet) that uses a narrow window with a gauzy glass that provides privacy. The geometric windows between the entry and living room is also a nice touch.
A wooden credenza. This one, all wood with skinny legs, is definitely more classic retro. Keep it in today’s world by accessorizing it with modern knickknacks.
Credenzas are important for any modern dining room. They can hold your dinnerware, candles, and any other accessories for the dining table. They can also be used as a decorative piece as well, and are a perfect place to display decorative objects.

I need to have an entryway before you get to the living space. I prefer some sort of room divider that doesn't completely close off the area. I like this idea because it allows for furniture along the wall but still has some openness.
FURNITURE. Example of the kind of furniture we like. This mid-century credenza features beautiful, natural-looking walnut (or teak ?) with oil and wax finish. Love to have one in our entry way.
