Peggy Braswell The color was from Silk Trading in LA. (They no longer sell paint) It was called Butternut Squash with a sienna glaze over it. I used a decorative painter for the glaze.
Is there anyway to get info on the paintcoor used on the trim in this room? I'm loooking for a nice grown up purple that is not to dark to mix with brown and white~mixed metals.
Thanks! »
Work in purple through the trim work. This bedroom is all about the gold and a wisteria shade of purple. Painting the trim adds to the Old World charm.
I'm seriously loving the lavender trim in this bedroom. This is a great example of how you can use an unexpected, lighthearted color for the molding even in a traditional space. Look how the linens on the bed tie in with the windows and doors. Brilliant.
Purple feels even more playful in unexpected applications, like trim. In this photo, the colors set one another off in a way that's subtle, balanced and unique.
3. Totally Unexpected ColorsBeige and gray are nice. But so is lavender against a yellow ocher wall. This room is elegant and classic and surprising and unique at the same time. Look for colors that complement each other on the color wheel and pick from those spectrums.

Although I have a personal distaste for waking up to a nude portrait hanging over my head (I'd probably prefer a landscape, or a sepia photo triptych), the color scheme in the room is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.
