This is my girls' bathroom. I love the dark charcoal walls with all the bright white. The floor tiles were inexpensive stock tiles from one of the big box home improvement stores, and the cabinet was designed by me and built by my carpenter.

mirrors, are they medicine cabinets? - Lovely bathroom. Are the mirrors medicine cabinets that your carpenter framed? Or mirrors that he framed? Thanks! »
Kayleigh Tubbergen Just be careful about online and box stores- they often have plastic "guts" - make sure if you don't buy them from a wholesaler or showroom, you get a written warranty! You'll want to make sure you have that in case you need a part replacement down the road :)
Wall trim and wainscoting paint color? - I'm looking at the same floor tile, but my white trim looks so much whiter than the tile sample. This photo looks like a similar color trim to tile. What is the trim paint used? Thanks! Such a great inspirational bathroom! »
Judith Balis He could, but I'm afraid that shipping would make it VERY expensive. Best thing to do is to take this picture into a local cabinet maker and have them duplicate.
pharmchic2007 Mrs. Judith can you please tell me what kind and brand of faucets these are? I want some so bad!! Can't find these exact ones anywhere and they aren't the ones other people are saying they are. Thanks in advance!!
Marble Thickness - Can you tell me how thick the marble is? I'm thinking about using 2cm in my bathroom and am wondering if this is it. I like this look because it's clean lines and not too thick. »
Carolyn Albert-Kincl Design I know you'd prefer a precise measurement, but I'm going to guess: two 30" cabinets plus 18" for the drawers equals 78". Or it may be 84" if the sink cabinets are 36" ones.
Whatever the size, it's quite lovely and interesting with the drawers set back from the sink cabinets slightly.
Judith Balis Sherri: I would use the same tile again in a heartbeat...BUT, I would use a gray grout and make sure to seal it. Then basic cleaning is all that is needed. Cheers!
baggie2 We have this sink in our master bath, and love it! Its wide edges and depth are a wonderful plus to its unique design. We have used ours in similar fashion to the ones in the picture, but know it can also be a pedestal.
The sink from Kohler's Memoir Collection is available at Build.com. You can see the piece here: http://bld.cm/NaIeDR. For other products from the Memoirs Collection, take a look here: http://bld.cm/LWg7EI.
Floor maintenance - I absolutely love the floors, and am thinking about doing the same for my bathrooms. In all honesty though, are they a pain-in-the-neck to keep clean? Do I need to be committed to sweeping/mopping them every day? Thanks, you have a gorgeous bathroom! »
Trends in Tile Beautiful floor!!! Remember, whatever kind of grout you use can look dirty simply by how you clean the floor. Most 'dirty grout" is simply the dirty water that is left over on the floor after "cleaning." Always rinse your floor with clean water.
FYI - We always recommend sealing your grout (unless you decide to use the more expensive epoxy)
floridaorchid Thank you so much for your reply. Now that you have them installed and love them, I am going to order them tonight. It is hard to tell what they look like from a picture. I went to a supplier but they didn't have them at the time. They did give me the Moen book and the picture in their book just looks stunning but they do look very tall. It is so nice hearing from someone who has them. Didn't like most of the other faucets because they seem so clunky! My newly remodeled bathroom is going to be transitional so I think they will look great in it. Again, thank you so much!
bathdilemna Glad to help! If you love them, get them. My bathroom is large with similar set up to the above photo so I feel the size works well. I looked at many goose neck faucets with cross handles and these seemed the most elegant to me. We also purchased the matching fixtures for our tub and shower and love them as well. Not sure what site you are planning on ordering from but we bought everything from Fergusons. We have a local store but you can find all of their products online as well shopferguson.com and they were by far the least expensive. Good luck!
bepsf If you look closely the outlet is a GFI - so safety isn't an issue...
...and this is clearly staged for the photograph - I'm sincerely doubt this is the way the bathroom is kept for daily use.
I am wondering what colour the tiles in the shower would be, as they are not shown in this picture-does anyone know?? We are going to pick out our bathroom tommorow....... »
Rebekah Zaveloff I can't help myself by answering...dark ones. I'd suggest a darker limestone or black or gray slate. Nova Blue/Lagos Azul is a great color that hides everything.
catjackabby Also if you do a natural stone tile- limestone or travertine in warm colors like walnuts and cremes combined it hides everything. I have two dogs that sleep on mine and you would never know.
By how much is the drawer stack set back from the sink bases? - Is this an 18" deep drawer stack & 21" deep sink bases or something different/custom? LOVE the look and want to duplicate! »
Are there pictures of the rest of the room? - This bathroom appears to be similar in size to mine. I would like to see the rest. It looks like something I could do. What was the cost of the remodel and was it a total gutting or just refurbishing? »
What is the total counter depth of this cabinet on the vanity and middle section? - I am curious to know total inches from wall to front of tile. We have similar sinks and layout and I am working on the counter depth. Ours will be just over 23" .. curious if this is similar. Thanks! :) »
Originally, done with veneer cabinetry, laminate counter tops and vinyl flooring, Madeline's bath received a full renovation. Now it showcases beautiful custom cabinetry with marble counters that were designed by Judith and built by her carpenter. Also, new tile floors were added to complete the renovation.
Remember, lamps can be snuck in nearly anywhere with an outlet. If you feel your bathroom vanity could use a little extra glow, accessorize it with a table lamp. Keep it on during parties so guests can easily locate the bathroom.
1. Wall paint. Rich, bright color costs the same as beige, so go for it. Paint creates the greatest impact for the least amount of money, hands down. The right color can open up a cramped space, make a large room feel cozier or add instant personality to a basic bath. And all it takes to create a unique striped pattern or a zany geometric design is a roll of painter's tape and a sharp pencil.
