The backsplash features a stainless steel subway tile. It was chosen to 
cool down and update the existing warm color palette in the kitchen and adjacent family room. 
This fresh twist on an otherwise classic design element reflects the owner’s evolving taste towards contemporary. The tile is solid enough to not compete with busy countertops,
 picks up on gray flecks in the granite and highlights existing knobs and appliances. Custom cabinet light shield moldings still to be installed. By Cathy Zaeske
