HERE Design and Architecture Hello, Essa - I have only just discovered these questions, probably too late to be of any help to you. There are a number of books available on the subject, but, the strategies that we used in this house included closing the space to the hottest sun, insulating, using energy efficient glazing, having lots of opportunities for natural ventilation, and sinking half of the house 3' into the ground. I know that there are many strategies used in desert architectures and I'm sure you can find (probably have already found) information on them that are specific to your area.
