One place that YELLOW....meaning a really bright lemony yellow feels good in my home is is the kitchen. I live in Queensland Australia...heaps of flies! Flies hate yellow! = No flies in the food area! Another area is on a sunny facing aspect...here in Queensland that would be an East-facing room . Lovely to get up in the winter or colder months and have a cuppa looking out to the green garden trhough bright warm yellow. Otherwise, its a lovely touch, but in a warmer more orangy/yellow (but not too much so) when paired with a deep...really deep tourquiose or bluey green carpet or rug and a feature wall made of mahogany stained timber with a nice wood grain....Those combinations featuring yellow.give even a humble home a regal atmosphere.

Interesting about the flies. My kitchen will be yellow too, but more subdued.
