Disappointing experience, expensive, hard to get back for follow-up Initially we were happy with the job done by Breakaway Landscaping – they created attractive brick pathways beside our driveway and rebuilt our front steps and patio. But over time several bricks began to sink and after a few years became a trip hazard. We contacted Breakaway to come back to rectify the problem. However they were very difficult to pin down to commit to a date. We agreed in April to proceed, but had to follow-up numerous times to get them to come out. They finally came out in September – 5 months later! They agreed to do the work at cost as their initial job had failed. They charged $1,500 for the repair of several bricks which had to be removed and re-levelled with no materials except a bit of sand/gravel and claimed this amount did not include any profit. It took 10 hours for a junior labourer to do the work, with Doug coming back from time to time to check on the fellow’s progress. But when they thought they were done and wanted to leave I noticed that they had knocked another brick out and now it wasn’t level. They said they would be back within the next 2 days to finish. Guess what? They didn’t come and I had to contact them to get them back. And after they left we noticed that they had simply tossed the waste materials in our garden rather than disposing of them properly. I contacted Steve to get someone out to clean up the mess but he simply ignored my request.

Great workmanship, great staff, great pricing. They showed up on time and within 2 hours, our tree was cut down and chipped.

These guys were prompt, polite and professional. Their work was of the highest quality. Doug and his crew were highly recommended to us and did not disappoint. We will be recommending them to anyone who needs reliable Landscapers.

We hired Breakaway Landscaping 3 years ago as we could not keep up with the lawn maintenance during our home renovations. Moving back after 7 mths our lawn looked better than when we left. Steve, the owner, was amazing during our transition so much so that we continued on with their services. Breakaway has done so much for us including pruning precious trees, gardening, landscaping etc. Best of all the crew are so polite, energetic and professional. Couldnt ask for a better relationship as Breakaway truly cares about us. We are not just another lawn to cut.

I have worked with Breakway Landscaping for weekly maintenance of landscaping and snow removal. I have not had any complaints with their work, The workers are extremely professional and always leave the grounds very well maintained and clean after they are done. I've just recently used Breakaway for a backyard renovation and they did a fantastic job. They provided drawings and specifications. They did follow up and made some suggestions on what would work best in the area. They started in finished in the time they committed to getting the job completed. Doug and Steve did an amazing work. They started with a pool area that was a complete mess with concrete, patch work interlocking - uneven and poorly executed mismatched stones. Massive overgrown tree roots intruding around the pool. A real problem that needed fixing. After negotiating project cost; deposit received; start date agreed upon.; Everything pretty much ran smoothly and the project was done on time. The team was friendly and responsive to questions as the project progressed. I would recommend them to anyone as they were recommended to me by my neighbor. Thumbs up!!!
