Rug is too small. Put some colours on the pillows

The rug should be at least 8X10 and I think a solid is a better choice for a parquet pattern.

If you own it, remove the rug and paint or stain the parquet black. Then we'll see about arranging the furniture and adding decor.

You'd think so, wouldn't you? Seems not to be the case, but then people complain about the "thread police" when we catch it and try to warn others!

i don't think houzz cares one whit about this sort of faux paux! it is like the tp one, they are gathering and writing articles as we speak, now they can even write about changing opinion, it was over now it is under! that kinda thing.

So, what is a faux paux, havingfun? Isn't using "faux paux" really its own faux pas?lol

i am sure you are correct, but i feel my brain burp style is a much better faux than your pas one, no? lol

BUT, I have an old and tired parquet floor and it never occurred to me to paint it until I saw this....so very much worth it to revise this thread! Thanks Deco!

how all this lead to painting parquet floors is beyond me, but when it is done, can we see aunt t?

You're welcome, auntthelma (I once had an Aunt Thelma!) We'd love to see how they turn out. I've suggested them many times, OP's have said they plan to do it, but I've never seen their results!
