Bedroom Ideas
How they added the lath: The base is a bed from Ikea with large storage drawers underneath. They attached vertical 2-by-4s to the bed frame with large screws, being careful not to screw into the drawer mechanism. They created lath panels with 1-by-2 rails and wood lath cross pieces from a building supply store. They attached the panels to the vertical 2-by-4s.
Pour séparer une pièce..."The lath panels were a great way to incorporate texture," Caleo adds. While they were not able to use reclaimed lath from downstairs (think messy old plaster dust and allergies), they gave the new unsanded pieces a weathered patina by coating them in a mix of water-thinned white primer and a little gray paint. The lath defines the bedroom nook, lets the light filter through and serves as a unique sculptural element that references the building's history.
For a practical, casual look, leave just a finger width of space between the floor and the hem of the drapes. Dust won't gather, and the hem will stay clean. This is a great length for the family room or any high-traffic area. It's also a great length if your pets shed, or your drapes sit next to the backyard patio door, where dirt is dragged in on a regular basis.
Personalize the guest's sleeping space, even if it's in the living room. Sometimes it's just not possible to create a separate room in your home for guests. When guests sleep in the living room, where they can feel exposed, be sure to make it their territory as much as possible. Provide a place where they can put an alarm clock, glass of water etc. near the bed. Also, give them control over lighting, so they can read in bed. And make sure they know how to work your TV and media systems.
The sofa placement in this space provides a visual break from the kitchen. Two chairs side by side in front of the French doors provide additional seating but don't block the view. The two smaller stools placed in front of the fireplace provide more places to sit but do not crowd the main seating area or block the view to the fireplace.

There are a warmth and softness to this gray (Benjamin Moore's Coventry Gray) that belie any associations we might have with that color.
Kasey Buick I'm not a huge fan of blue, but I find this shade (Ralph Lauren's Faded Silk) irresistible. There's enough green and gray in it to make it interesting, and as soothing as a bed of clouds.
A soft gray with beige undertones that is a perfect complement to most white marbles, such as Calacatta. It's a great solution for those who feel gray is too cold. This elegant bathroom is painted in my favorite greige, Benjamin Moore's Revere Pewter HC-172.
Blue is calming and a logical choice for slumber-inducing relaxation. This bedroom is painted in Benjamin Moore's Quiet Moments 1563, which is best paired with a crisp white.
