Killy and Oliver have gleaned plenty of practical tips for decorating a small home. Most importantly, edit edit edit! "Small spaces are wonderfully warm and cozy, but they get easily cluttered," says Killy. "We are rigorous editors of stuff now, but are surrounded only by the most important things in our lives."
Killy and Oliver used the fabric to make the tufted headboard seen here. The warm brown plays well against the cool blue wall, and provides a bit of a professorly vibe, no?

Think outside the box when considering tufts and try unusual fabrics, like burlap. It gives the tufts an almost masculine feel, plus adds great texture.
Burlap - rough, organic feel. The hint of deep raspberry, the red wood, the grass on table top. Teal walls, strong hints of white. Unexpected, casual, elegant, stylish.
