This lovely breakfast room, overlooking the garden, is an inviting place to start your day lingering over Sunday morning coffee. I had the walls painted in a soft coral, contrasting with various wood tones in the armoire, table and shades. It is all tied together by keeping the chair covers and rug light in color. The crystal chandelier is an unexpected element in a breakfast room, yet, your not compelled to pull out the china and silver.

LORRAINE G VALE, Allied ASID Hello Catladymom-This is an oval antique, oak, drop leaf table with twisted barley legs. The table fully extended is 42"W x 58"L. With the oval ends 'dropped', it measures 20"W x 42"L.

These castered chairs are from Lee Industries. They also made the slipcovers with COM fabric that I provided to them.

I love that rug, too. You can't see the details in this photo, it has a very subtle stripe. It is a broadloom, cut to this custom size and that I had surged all around. It is 100% wool from Godfrey Hirst?

LORRAINE G VALE, Allied ASID I love the graphic pattern of this fabric. It is 100% linen, durability is Heavy Duty. I would have it treated for stain resistance, which is what I have done here. This would be great in a tall headboard to get the full affect of the pattern-no tufting.
It comes in 9 yummy colors. Color 15 would look amazing in a guest room with white furniture! Check it out:

The color is Ben Moore, #2170-30 Autumn Cover. I have used it on all the walls in this kitchen and breakfast room. This is one of those colors in which a little goes a long way. As you can see here, there is not a lot of wall space.

LORRAINE G VALE, Allied ASID In this breakfast room, I have used linen on the chairs and the stationary drapery panels with natural fiber shades. Wrinkling is the only issue with linen. If you have your heart set on a particular linen fabric, then I would use it as long as you can accept the beauty of it's inherent qualities. Be sure to line them as well to prevent fading and fiber breakdown from the sun.

On p.42, there is a table very similar to this one-Arcadia Wood Gateleg Table. It's bigger, but your space might be able to use it. Check it out:

dizzydecorator I ordered beautiful lined woven wood blinds on the Internet & had them hung by an installer. They look beautiful and they cut out the setting sun. The blinds are guaranteed, so if you're not satisfied you can return them. I ordered one blind first to be sure I liked them. Wood blinds are expensive & not everyone can afford them. I would rather order them thru a decorator, but don.t have the $.

LORRAINE G VALE, Allied ASID Hey Ceili123-I just now saw your question regarding the mounting method of these blinds-the decision was simple-the molding around the window is flat. Inside mount was not possible. Most times designers solutions are for practical and functional reasons!

I love these shades. They have great texture - natural bamboo and grass - and they are very practical, keeping the harmful rays of the sun off my furnishings.
These are custom shades purchased through one of my trade vendors. Color is 'pecan'. Lorraine
