Pankow Construction - Design/Remodeling - PHX, AZ The ice-chest is an ELKAY trough. It's constructed the same way a sink would be with the drainage connected to the nearby sink faucet.
getting granite counter tops cosmic black not sure if I should go with 2 to 4 in backsplash( granite) or just have tile on wall under cabinates meet granite really like the look of that. just not sure if the tile meeting granite over time will not hold up as well as the 2 to 4 in granite back splash »
Mona Ives This really comes down to personal preference. I've seen some tilers do not such a nice job of the joint at the countertop which is disappointing. If you have an excellent installer, you should discuss with them how they will do the grout line at the countertop and ask if they've done it before and how it turned out. A 4" backsplash or even 3" above counter with tile above is also a lovely way to go, and is personally how I do most kitchens. In my own kitchen, I did tile down to the counter and it looks good, but the area at the back of the counter doesn't get that much use, since I have a corner sink and keep most of my countertop appliances back there (think toaster, coffee machine, electric tea kettle, bread box, etc.) If you want a very clean look and empty countertop, you may prefer the more seamless appearance of the 4" granite backsplash.
Rebekah Zaveloff That looks like a white granite that we call White Palmas in this region, and polished. Often times white granites don't look as shiny as other polished granites.
