Need help with application - I bought your application in order to get more information for the dining room. I thought it would give prices. Gave no further information. I went through your rooms and they gave no information like some of the other decorators give without purchasing an application. Tell me the purpose for buying the app. Am I missing something? »
Oakley Home Builders Hi Anna, not sure what exactly you mean by pricing? Our app is designed to give you hundreds of beautiful photos, paint colors, flooring selections, countertop information and other designer/decorator info. It really is not intended to give pricing from a decorator. Can you help us out with what you are asking about? Thanks!
Oakley Home Builders The wall color is Benjamin Moore's Smoke Grey. The Chandelier is the Twelve Light Bronze Up Chandelier. The curtains are a Grey Belgium Linen Curtain Panel.

Oakley Home Builders Thanks for your comments. We don't force anyone to purchase our app to find out the paint selections to our homes. It is merely a tool we have made available with over 100 photos, flooring selections, paint colors, cabinetry colors and finishes as well as countertop selections. We get asked hundreds of questions about our homes and felt this was an excellent tool to provide all of this great info in one location. Our main focus is building homes, while we love to provide houzzers with the info, it's not very timely as we get many questions on a daily basis. The paint colors are located on the app by depressing the pin keys which show where we have info about each photo. The wall color for this particular dining room is Benjamin Moore's Smoke Grey.
tjaklitsch no expert here, but I just had my dining room done. It looks like an applied molding over wallboard. Another option is to frame out the individual boxes with 1 x whatever primed molding, then add a decorative edge molding (did they call it a rabbett molding?) to finish off the inside of the boxes. Then a cap molding at the top edge and a base molding at the bottom. Sorry I don't know all the terminology, but it might get you started on a Google search. My trim guy and I just played with different profiles until we came with something we both liked.
Bonnie The trim work is Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore. Oakley Builders provided this info as a response to another question. You will see their reply if you read through other questions.
Anne DeCocco It depends on what kind of look you're going for. A monochromatic look would mean you need a rug in gray, brown or white. That would look sleek and contemporary. A rich oriental rug with lots of reds would bring a traditional vibe into this elegant space. A rug with long, shaggy fibers or strips of leather would be fun (but a pain to clean after dinner)!
Kelly Porter A similar paint trio to try is Anonymous 7046 for the walls, Amazing Gray 7044 for the outer portion of the ceiling, and Porpoise 7047 for the darker part of the ceiling. All of the colors are by Sherwin-Williams.
What is the height of the chair rail? What size are the picture frame boxes? - Also, as a builder what would you recommend for the height of a chair rail in an upstairs hallway? and the picture frame boxes?
Thanks in advance for your response! »
Paint your tray ceiling the same color as your walls. Painting the tray ceiling only (not the sides) the same color as the walls will accentuate the tray slightly, perfect in a room that you want to feel layered.
