Full trash can cabinet size - with the extra side area, what are the final dimensions of cabinet area? I would like to have the same concept built in our island. Thanks so much! »
Moisture under Cabinets? - I would suggest sealing the area inside this cabinet to keep bad smells, mold and moisture from developing with garbage shut under the cabinets. »
Mullet Cabinet Typically with the size of these bins (36 quart) trash does not stay 'lingering' very long. Most clients empty the bins a couple times a week if not daily. We've yet to hear a complaint like that, but it's a valid point.
tammieb66 I have the same trash cans and use one for recycling. I use a blue recycling bag in my trash can that I use for recycling. This helps to differentiate for guests.
Could you please share the style and maker of the drawer pulls used here? - I have just installed custom cabinets in our kitchen and the 3 inch pulls we ordered and installed have a 1 inch projection and we need a 1 1/2 projection. Are these pulls by any chance 3 inch? And do they have a greater than 1 inch projection? »
can you get lids for these? - I
I've seen this at home depote & home hard wear and the 12" 2 bin , does not have lids. And I was not able to order them:( I really want them but think its to much to spend for no lids. Any suggestions? »
Where do I purchase cabinets - I live in Anchorage Alaska and we don't have many choices for cabinet styles. Is there any recommendations for out of state ordering? Love this drawer. »
Mullet Cabinet We actually worked with a client from Alaska this year! They had the cabinetry delivered to their residence then installed by a local contractor.
Katherine D Please help! The former owners of our home had painted our kitchen cabinets a dark brown, originally white. Almost immediately, the paint came off anywhere there was any contact. I have done touch ups repeatedly, sanded, cleaned and repainted with kitchen paint but it continues to come off. If I run a fingernail along, the paint just peels right off. I would hate to repaint as there are a lot of cabinets. Any advice? Strangely, all the newly painted surfaces are doing the same thing. Especially the stair railing, the moulding around windows. I have matched the paint colour and bought good quality paint, not cheap, for touch ups from Home Depot and Home Hardware.
hi13 Was the original paint oil-based? You cannot paint latex over oil, or it will do exactly what you're describing. Oil over oil, or oil over latex only.
5. Disinfect trash cans. No matter how careful you are, food and gunk manages to collect at the bottom of a trash can. Use a holiday party as an excuse to clean trash cans. Take them outside and wash them with a garden hose and dish soap. Disinfect them with a cleaning spray. Make sure you have extra trash bags, too.
WANT: This kind of hidden garbage thing in the kitchen for trash and recycling• Call Clark and get good cabinetmaker's name• Clean out an undercabinet and drawer to make space. • ASK: Is there any way to put a lid on the stinky kitchen trash? Having it open is kind of gross to me.
12. Wash the insides of your garbage cans. Try using a strong bleach-and-water solution. Rinse them out and let them dry outside. 13. Clean drains and garbage disposals. Run a lemon or a cup of white vinegar through your garbage disposal to get rid of any unfortunate smells.
The average American generates 4.5 pounds of trash every day — about 1.5 tons of waste per year. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that roughly 75 percent of that waste is recyclable, but only about 30 percent is actually recycled. The kitchen typically produces the most waste, so boost your recycling contribution by using a sorting center.
