kdoyle196 I'm looking into an option for what you're describing One choice is getting commercial grade grasscloth which comes in 54" widths rather than the typical 36". This means fewer seams. Another possibility also includes the 54" wide grasscloth- I have 51 inches between the top of my chair rail/picture molding and the crown molding so I may turn the 54" wide and run it lengthwise, for few or even no seams. This would look best, I think, if I can find a grasscloth with a strong vertical component so that it will look horizontal once it's turned 90 degrees. Hope this helps.

sharib46 Hey Everyone - thanks for commenting and I apologize for confusion about the photo. My room looks like a tall box and the photo caught my eye because of the ceiling treatment and I used it as an example of maybe what I could do to lessen the "box" look. I'm not a designer, not good with color, and there is no one in my town that is. I love this site and truly appreciate all the wonderful pictures and articles.

Twist Interior Design The ceiling is a decorative wall finish comprised of many colors. Overall the effect is like tortoise, though it's difficult to tell that in this image. So it's not a single paint color, but several layered custom colors and some gold dust. Good luck with your project!

istenhu www.americanhomeintl.com sells Phillip Jeffries and other grasscloth wallcoverings in Europe. I purchased wallcoverings from them before and they were very professional and helpful. Hope this helps!

What it is.Just like it sounds, grass cloth is a wall covering woven from long strips of dried natural fibers, usually jute, grass, hemp or other similar plants. Trendy in past decades, it fell out of fashion for a time, then came roaring back in recent years thanks to its organic, ecofriendly construction and textural richness.Grass cloth comes in a variety of weaves, from fine to chunky, and in both natural and dyed colors (like my cheesetastic orange version). It can look sleek and contemporary, rough and rustic, and anything in between. Don't trust the sample book — pin a larger grass-cloth panel to your wall and live with it for a few days to make sure the color and weave are what you had in mind. And be warned: The hue can intensify once it covers the entire wall.
