Karina Hunter What I always love about a piano is that its the perfect place to display favourite photos, so certainly the addition of cable boxes, etc. is a distraction. Check out a piece like Pottery Barn Smart Technology Desk Hutch, or something similar, that can hold all your pieces, plus offer some DVD storage. The bonus is that the shelf still allows you to display your photos on top and even affords the added bonus of another display level, which makes things visually interesting.
This living room functions as a music room, reading room and TV room. Creative thinking!

8. An away room. Though it'll be nice to have that large space to enjoy each other's company, it'll be important to have a room (or two) to get away to. Someplace small, cozy and quiet. Perhaps to read, play the piano, take a nap, or watch the show only you like.
