mightydeck I looked at Mascarpone on Benj Moore's website - - it doesn't look anything like the color chip I picked up - - - -it's more blue on their website - - oh well.
The Impatient Gardener There is definitely no blue in Mascarpone. Don't pick colors from the website ... it's just an indication of a color relative to other colors you're viewing on you monitor.
This is a good example of placing your furniture first, then measuring for the rug. You do not want the rug bumping up against furniture or touching another rug in the same area, yet you don't want the rug to be too small.
Bench. Having a bench to rest against while pulling on boots or strapping up shoelaces is much more comfortable than attempting a balancing act each day. Of course, if you don't have space for a bench, a chair or ottoman will work just as well.
The portrait here is hung in the foyer, right by the French doors. The idea is lovely: Anyone leaving the house gets an opportunity to enjoy this portrait. It's a prominent placement, but out of the way of the main rooms. And it's also nice that it stands alone on that wall, as opposed to being mixed in a salon style grouping.
Only reason for throwing this pic in as I like the wood door paired with all of the white elements. My entry is really dark, so lightening it up is ideal
