Vdaet - This room is awesome, I agree with you about grays, it all depends on the light, and exposures. Grays are wonderful in art galleys, or where artwork is displayed. »
Joel Kelly Design The trim color is an old Duron color...8220W Hayseed. The wall color is a light gray. Grays will either go blue or brown and can even sometimes go a little red. Best advice on this is to select some, put samples up in your space and see what feels right to you. What looks good here, could look terrible in your space. Grays are very finicky...so always test them first.
EnvironmentalLights.com EnvironmentalLights.com offers complimentary design services and product selection, so they can help you setup your new lighting system. LED lighting is very energy-efficient and uses little energy, so you can design on one switch.
We offer state-of-the art LED track light fixtures from Kichler. Direct-wire LED track (rail) lights are very bright, and you can adjust them for general illumination, grazing walls or spot lighting art or other subjects.
Joel Kelly Design These are from Tech Lighting...by far the cleanest ones we've used...they are pricey, but very good looking. Many manufacturers make similar versions, but tend to be more bulky. Typically, you have a 150w transformer, a 300w or a 600w. Each light is normally 50w, so it will depend on how many lights you need as to what you'll end up going with. Also, if you have a cavity in the ceiling, you can do a remote transformer, shown here, instead of having to do a surface mount like you would need if you were applying to a concrete ceiling.
Joel Kelly Design It's an antique Chinese piece I picked up at the Scott Antique Market in Atlanta. I'll see if I can find a frontal photo of the piece and post it.
Joel Kelly Design The sofas are custom and we used a fabric from Joseph Noble. It's the Hermitage Mohair. There are several colors in this range. Fawn, Taupe and Silver are the three in this range.
I always think a room feels so unfriendly when you enter it and are faced with the back of a sofa. Here we see two daybeds placed so the entrance doesn't feel blocked. These daybeds are a great choice to make this compact room feel very open.
"Hoop skirts went out with Scarlett and so did the bravado. We're far more tailored here than people give us credit for," Kelly says. When I think about Scarlett's most famous fashion moment, I envision today's Atlanta woman creating a chic Calvin Klein–esque minimalist gown made of the drapes shown here. It would be fitting for the city's style.
