Our San Francisco studio designed this beautiful four-story home for a young newlywed couple to create a warm, welcoming haven for entertaining family and friends. In the living spaces, we chose a beautiful neutral palette with light beige and added comfortable furnishings in soft materials. The kitchen is designed to look elegant and functional, and the breakfast nook with beautiful rust-toned chairs adds a pop of fun, breaking the neutrality of the space. In the game room, we added a gorgeous fireplace which creates a stunning focal point, and the elegant furniture provides a classy appeal. On the second floor, we went with elegant, sophisticated decor for the couple's bedroom and a charming, playful vibe in the baby's room. The third floor has a sky lounge and wine bar, where hospitality-grade, stylish furniture provides the perfect ambiance to host a fun party night with friends. In the basement, we designed a stunning wine cellar with glass walls and concealed lights which create a beautiful aura in the space. The outdoor garden got a putting green making it a fun space to share with friends.

Yin and yang – this two-person home office space balances masculine and feminine appeal through its perfect unison of style and function. The multiple facets of these busy homeowners’ personal and work lives require generous space for focus and productivity whether strategizing a merger, or orchestrating the next big social event.
The customized kidney-bean-shaped desktops made of honed sandstone, soften the linear structures of the space with graceful curves conforming to each workspace. The wood floor -- a wide-plank grey-washed, wire-brushed finish provides the perfect juxtaposition to the sleek, modern furniture design. Chartreuse-green brushed chrome chairs speak to the vibrant outdoor landscape, and the metallic cowhide rug splashes a touch of glam and whimsy to the not-so-business-as-usual, chic office space for two.

Home office. The nice clean lines here must contribute to the neatness of this space...which seems very clean and neat! Covering the file cabinets is Caesarstone's Jet Black Quartz countertop - clean and functional. The wood look porcelain tile floor is the same flooring we have throughout the downstairs - again a very clean, durable and contemporary look.

Meaning “line” in Swahili, the Mstari Safari Task Lounge itself is accented with clean wooden lines, as well as dramatic contrasts of hammered gold and reflective obsidian desk-drawers. A custom-made industrial, mid-century desk—the room’s focal point—is perfect for centering focus while going over the day’s workload. Behind, a tiger painting ties the African motif together. Contrasting pendant lights illuminate the workspace, permeating the sharp, angular design with more organic forms.
Outside the task lounge, a custom barn door conceals the client’s entry coat closet. A patchwork of Mexican retablos—turn of the century religious relics—celebrate the client’s eclectic style and love of antique cultural art, while a large wrought-iron turned handle and barn door track unify the composition.
A home as tactfully curated as the Mstari deserved a proper entryway. We knew that right as guests entered the home, they needed to be wowed. So rather than opting for a traditional drywall header, we engineered an undulating I-beam that spanned the opening. The I-beam’s spine incorporated steel ribbing, leaving a striking impression of a Gaudiesque spine.

This office was created for the Designer Showhouse, and our vision was to represent female empowerment. We wanted the office to reflect the life of a vibrant and empowered woman. Someone that’s busy, on the go, well-traveled, and full of energy. The space also reflected other aspects of this woman’s role as the head of a family and the rock that provides calm, peace, and comfort to everyone around her.
We showcased these qualities with decor like the built-in library – busy, chaotic yet organized; the tone and color of the wallpaper; and the furniture we chose. The bench by the window is part of our SORELLA Furniture line, which is also the result of female leadership and empowerment. The result is a calm, harmonious, and peaceful design language.

Just off the kitchen, this small, well organized home office constructed in 2015 for a West Bloomfield family gets the job done. Teak cabinetry in a Dark Chocolate finish from Tafisa keeps supplies organized and out of sight. The upper doors have no handles, keeping the look sleek. Lower cabinets feature slim line silver pulls. Task lighting mounted under the upper cabinets illuminates the Calacatta quartzite counters to provide a bright, easy to use desk surface. The ‘L’ shaped counter continues down the window wall to provide plenty of room for the family to pay bills or do homework. A linen covered tack board offers a handy place to display important memos and treasured memorabilia.

This four-time award-winning St. Michael’s property is a contemporary gem on the water. The owners of the property originally intended to renovate an existing ’80s structure, but soon realized it was beyond repair. Our team commenced a full tear down and rebuild on the existing footprint to keep with county regulations for waterfront structures. The result is a modern take on the lake house, a light-filled sanctuary built with integrity to stand the tests of time and the elements. Excellence in Custom Building Winner in Annapolis Home Magazine 2017.
