Great backyard ideas. By keeping things simple, you give yourself so much more space and less clutter.

We have radiant heated concrete floors with 2 dogs and a cat in California. We have now lived here over a year, with a string of really hot and really cold days. My Gpa has threatened to move into our place (they live in the big house on the property, we live in 480sq feet, but after days of 100 degree weather, it topped out at 72 inside with just a fan on). The only draw back I find is that I tend to wear my 'house slippers' because it can be cold (I don't like to waste electricity, our floor is set at 62 degrees) and hard in the winter, but I have not once regretted the decision that I made on the floors.

Been living on custom etched and stained concrete floors for over 10 years. Just wear a comfy shoe and you won't experience problems..no different than ceramic tile as far as having an impact on the body.
