“David Chamberlin designed my retirement home with my active involvement. He was sensitive to my aesthetic, needs and desire to have an environmentally sound home. The building site was a narrow lot on a steep slope in a small development with regulations and restrictions limiting what could be built. David created a lovely, functional and inventive plan incorporating both passive and active solar features. David is receptive and easy to work with as well as being thoroughly competent in both design and building knowledge. He eagerly took on educating himself on new residential solar technology, and, I understand, has used this in later projects. Since I was then living out of state, he also oversaw the progress of the building, dealing with the contractor that I had chosen. Unfortunately, I had made a poor choice of contractors which created many, many problems and building was halted halfway through. David represented my interests throughout with integrity and perseverance, spending many hours reviewing the contractor's expense claims to the work completed. After a pause of several months, a new contractor was hired to complete the project. The construction of my home came in way over my budget due to the problems with the original contractor, poor workmanship by his subcontractors, subsequent lawyer fees, expenses due to delays and then hiring a new contractor who needed to redo some of the construction. In the end, I now have a wonderful and unique home. Thank you David.”
