Niki Papadopoulos I would start looking into iron or metal workers in your area. Perhaps there is a specialty company who makes custom pieces from metal or iron--they might not do the kind of work you are looking for but they could possible point your in the right direction with a recommendation. Good Luck. I love a claw foot tub!
Paul Anater It depends on whether thy're really brass or if they're just brass-colored. Real brass can be cleaned and polished with Brasso. But beware that it will also remove the factory finishes on new brass fixtures. Your best bet is to follow the manufacturer's recommendations and most of them consist of telling you to use a mild detergent and a soft cloth.
Kelly Porter What a stunning space {this photo has been added to over 700 Ideabooks}! A similar deep-gray color to try is Templeton Gray HC-161 by Benjamin Moore.
Why a shower fixture but no frame for a shower curtain? Perhaps it would have been better and more practical to leave it as only a bathtub. If one takes a shower in this tub, both the toilet paper next to it and the floor will get all wet! »
Brushed nickel and chrome seem to be the default for bathroom fixtures these days, so there's something refreshing about the gorgeous gold in this simple, elegant bathroom.
Grey can also suggest a sort of old-time elegance that derives from a different era in time. That's what we see here and it's enhanced by the period pieces in the bathroom. I like this use of grey.
What a perfect bathroom. Granted, most Parisian bathrooms aren't nearly this spacious, but if they were, they'd look like this. I love the gray walls and the black clawfoot tub - they're simple and work so nicely with the oyster walls and gold fixtures.
Jacques-Louis David. David's famous painting, Death of Marat, is one of the best examples of classicism out there (and it involves a bathtub). This vignette evokes a similar feeling as the painting. The room's use of traditional elements, like the claw foot tub, as well as its neutral (but powerful) colors and its incredible sense of balance combine to make it a great, living example of classicism.
10. Have fun with hardware. The gold toned spout, t.p. holder and light fixture are the only punch of color in this room and it works very well.
SIDE NOTE: I wonder if this is the most popular photo on Houzz? Personally, I cannot stop adding it to ideabooks because I love it so much!
My own personal favorite bath on houzz, elegant in its European simplicity, including all of the essentials and all of the panache with none of the clutter.
Unstained herringbone. This is what we want our floors to look like someday ... but it takes time, unless you can afford reclaimed white oak out the gate. I love the natural variation of the planks, but it's still unstained and raw looking.
Similarly, this lighting coincides so beautifully with the other gold-tone hardware and offers the perfect finishing touch in this sparse and fantastic bathroom.
This bathroom has gotten a lot of great press, with good reason. The pared-down, Old-World charm coupled with a few intricate details makes it warm and austere at the same time. You know I'm a sucker for mixing metals, so I'm loving the gold accents contrasted with the dark gray wall color, too!
The decorative elements of this molding may have been distracting had they been called out in a contrasting color.

Hello, dream bathroom. Everything about this bathroom walks that line between vintage and modern. The clawfoot tub (with the mod black finish) looks so pretty sitting under the warm gold tones of the shower faucet. And the plumbing and towel bar matches metals, so the space looks cohesive.
2. Claw-foot tub. Although some lovely new models are available on the market today, good scavengers can find the originals the new models emulate. Check antique stores and architectural salvage yards for antique claw-foot tubs. You can then send them to the glazer to have them fixed up good as new. Vintage sinks fall under this category as well. Pedestal and wall-mount sinks also can be refurbished to add vintage appeal to your bathroom. Fixture designers have been looking back and reproducing the styles for new models.
