jpynn867 I really enjoy the freshness about this room, and how it encorporates antique/tradional pieces in a fun and modern way. Great decorating for a room that encourages conversation.
Lily Gahagan My guess is it has been reupholstered. I'd look for an antique sofa with similar lines then take it to an upholsterer. They can find you a similar fabric to cover it in for the same look.
Here's that turquoise we were expecting! While many popular rooms were in muted tones, this one stood out as the most colorful of the bunch. Turquoise, bright pink, and black and white make for a fun and feminine space.
Pink bergere chairs and a black and white upholstered sofa live up to the turquoise walls. The abundance of white in the room balances all this brilliant color and pattern.
Think a bench doesn’t belong in the living room? It does when it’s a vintage-esque piece beautifully upholstered in a tufted rich coffee brown. This room also proves that browns and blacks DO play well together: The bench adds just the right variation to this super sophisticated palette.
This living room shows a successful mix of two black and white patterns which work harmoniously in a bold, sophisticated setting. Anyone else have any pattern mixing success stories or I-learned-this-from-experience tips? Speak up and tell us about it in the comments section, photos and all.

Turquoise and black. Black pairs well with any color, but there's just something about a turquoise and black room that looks so balanced. Maybe that's because warm blues are so tranquil and eye-friendly; they have the ability to soften even the deepest of dark colors and bring a room into harmony.More: Dress Your Home in Velvety BlackHere's to Black Casework, Doors and CabinetryDon't Be Afraid of the Dark (Wallpaper)The Case for Beautiful Black Doors
This is a completely different way to dress up a Craftsman-style fireplace. Talk about glam! The bold colors and the striped sofa are meant to be paired with that mirror. Also, notice how the fireplace just seems to blend seamlessly into the decor. Because black is used throughout the design, the fireplace doesn't appear too heavy but still seems to anchor the space.
the bench that is opposite the fireplace - would like a different style of bench to separate the living and dining area --- opening up the space - less boxed in - yet, still providing sitting space. Like this idea! Also, would we want to add booksheves or storage area on either side of fire place - making it flush with the brick on the floor??

I love this look, i will defiantly use it.
I think that the colors used are very bold but yet safe. it show's that its ok to use color, its just where, how, and HOW MUCH! you use it. I LOVE IT!
