This 7,000 square foot renovation and addition maintains the graciousness and carefully-proportioned spaces of the historic 1907 home. The new construction includes a kitchen and family living area, a master bedroom suite, and a fourth floor dormer expansion. The subtle palette of materials, extensive built-in cabinetry, and careful integration of modern detailing and design, together create a fresh interpretation of the original design.

Roman shades installation with non-wrapped window - Client would like to use roman shades in similar window app with these 3 windows. It is southern exposure but they are not concerned about privacy and heat.
Windows however in my application are NOT wood wrapped and I would prefer to use "simple panels" on both sides of window to bring together and create some softness. Plus, A dining room on the North opposite wall-one large window , so need to flow together and pull room together since it is quite long of a room with high ceilings.
What do you think? Am I wrong? »
Mary Pat Curran/Curran Interiors Great ideas and love the consistency of the fabric but changing the treatment. Appreciate your reply very much:) Back to basics is the key!
Annie Thornton Drilling into your windows may void the warranty, so I would suggest that is not the best option. I would think it's best to mount the window treatments onto the sides or on the inside of the top of the window jam outside of the casement-this is called a top mount.
i have sage dark green walls, white wooden shutters and dark gray bedspread. what colors should my drapes be - dark grey bedspread, white shutters, sage green dark walls, light bamboo walls »
Tone-on-tone styles are a safe bet for any design lover looking to bring Roman shades into their home. This style is a layering effect using slightly different shades of the same color. If you're on a budget, this is a great way to go since most retailers carry readymade options in neutral tones. You can always find amazing, streamlined neutral shades online at The Shade Store.
These sleek slate-toned shades provide the needed balance between light and dark in this gentle and beautifully simple bedroom. The slightly darker shade adds dimension without drawing attention to the shades themselves.
When I think of custom drapery, my mind often envisions heavy fabric overpowering a room. What I learned: When done right, custom drapery, like these Roman shades, can add a level of simple sophistication.
BedroomsMake your bed each morning. This one simple thing can go a long way toward feeling that all is right at home. If it's not already your habit, resolve to begin smoothing your sheets and covers and plumping your pillows each morning. Just walking by the bedroom will give you a little lift, and sliding into a crisply made bed each evening is one of life's little pleasures that shouldn't be missed.
4. Window treatments. Choosing a single window treatment style for your home is one simple way to connect the rooms. Roman shades are a classic choice â they look good with any style decor, and they can be layered with curtains if you want to change things up.
