streamliner Oberhauser Interiors, thank you for taking the time to answer the question. To many architects and decorators don't bother to answer the questions asked, and it is greatly appreciated by others. Nice job on this shower.
calikym Oberhauser - I have studied this simple photo over and over again... the tiles actually look backlit. The use of same size tile on walls and floor looks perfect, but learning this can only be installed properly with linear drain. simplicity at its finest. And you even left "crap" all over the shelves - real life stuff. THANKS for the contribution.
OBERHAUSER INTERIORS Adding light behind the tile would be very cool, but I'm not sure how to approach that in this situation. Obviously the installation of the tile would have to be attempted in a different way - not your standard thinset. Instead of the tile though, you could use a removable piece of frosted glass with lighting behind it.
A slightly different approach, but easier to achieve, would be a recessed slot at the top of the niche that hides a wet-location rated LED strip for example. This would give you nice indirect accent lighting for the niche. I hope this helped...
OBERHAUSER INTERIORS The dimensions of this space: 7'-4" (length of the wall shown) by 9'-6", but there is the freestanding tub on the opposite wall that shares the space. I hope this makes sense.
OBERHAUSER INTERIORS Sorry for the late response... MainStreet Design Build hit the nail on the head on how we achieved this - the water lines are in the standard wall behind the ledge.
Ceramic Tileworks Looks like a 3x6 Frosted Glass tile that we have in our collection. The color might be Aqua. You can see the options in this line on our website http://www.ceramictileworksmn.com/Mirage_Clear_Frosted
OBERHAUSER INTERIORS This drain was custom made, but there are multiple companies now that offer similar ones. On other projects I've used Infinity Drain (infinitydrain.com).
I can't find this hand shower holder. I have used the Hansgrohe Axtor Stark collection for my shower, but can't find this particular holder. Any help??? »
Construction Concepts Well I bought the Axtor Citterio Porter Handshower Holder, before installing, I checked the fit of the wand into the holder. No go, the Stark handshower does not fit into the Citterio holder. Any other thoughts or suggestions?? Thanks
what color cabinets did you use for the vanities? - This is my inspiration picture for my new master bathroom. I'm just missing that one element. It is a great design, thanks for thinking of it! »
Do you install underfloor heating systems? - If you didn't please the next time you're remodeling a bathroom please call Domoteck Floor Warming Systems at 1-800-959-9276. »
Select a linear drain. See that narrow channel at the base of the wall? That's a linear drain. Installing one means that your shower floor will have a flat slope in one direction, so you can run your large-format floor tile right on into the shower instead of using little mosaic tiles to accommodate multiple directions of slope. It will set you back around $1,000, but ask yourself how much you hate cleaning grout.
