Melanie Giolitti Interior Design Hi, It's actually a brown glaze. Jeff Bell had applied the finish. I've also used Briwax/ Light brown color over paint to achieve the same look; however, you cannot use a lacquer or urethane over wax. The wax becomes the top coat. Keep in mind when you apply the glaze, the base color changes. I usually start out with a "brighter" color and the glaze darkens and tones down the color.
Melanie Giolitti Interior Design The cabinets were fabricated and finished by Jeff Bell out of the Monterey area. He may still have a record of the finishes. The project was completed at least 6-8 years ago.
Paul Anater They are a rustic wood floor. If they are not made with vintage wood they've been distressed to appear vintage. A great source for high quality wood floors is Carlisle Wide Plank floors. http://www.wideplankflooring.com/
Countertop Tile - Loving the idea of a tiled countertop for our mediterranean-style kitchen with greenish glazed oak cabinets & spanish terracotta tiled floors. May I please know more about these tiles? I would love to know the name, brand, type of material (porcelain, stone, etc.), size and color. Thanks! :O) »
I love the continuity of white on countertops, backsplash/walls, ceiling, accented by dark, contrasting beams. It is not overdone, just a simple call to a rustic feeling.
7. Ceiling beams. Exposed ceiling beams provide a rustic note that blends well with the style's burnished metals and roughly textured walls. Stain them dark for contrast with the ceiling.

Love the painted cabs mixed with wood cabs- especially the upper and lower pairing. I would try the opposite- wood on top, same as floor, painted on bottom. Island maybe different color. Maybe.
