The Kitchen Studio of Glen Ellyn Sure, there are many options for access to the area under the seats. You could do drawers on the ends for very easy access, or a lift up lid for access to seasonal items.

I know that Home Depot sells MDF panels of beadboard that are pre-primed, so you can cut them down to whatever size that best fits the banquette you are building.

Home Depot also sells panels of beadboard made from pine. Each package contains enough wood to cover14 sq. ft. of wall space.

You can also go the more traditional way with individual pine boards that interlock via lap joint. The individual planks from American Beadboard are 8" across when connected, and are cut at 38 1/8" tall.

And beadboard wallpaper is gaining popularity as well. If it were my house though, I would go with the individual pine planks...but what can I say? I'm more of a traditionalist.
