After completing their son’s room, we decided to continue the designing in my client’s master bathroom in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Not only were the finishes completely overhauled, but the space plan was reconfigured too. They no longer wanted their soaking tub and requested a larger shower with a rain head and more counter top space and cabinetry. The couple wanted something that was not too trendy and desired a space that would look classic and stand the test of time. What better way to give them that than with marble, white cabinets and a chandelier to boot? This newly renovated master bath now features Cambria quartz counters, custom white cabinetry, marble flooring in a diamond pattern with mini-mosaic accents, a classic subway marble shower surround, frameless glass, new recessed and accent lighting, chrome fixtures, a coat of fresh grey paint on the walls and a few accessories to make the space feel complete.

This beautiful master bath designed by Jay Young, CKD, for his family residence leaves a lasting impression on each person that enters. The clean, white consistency throughout the space makes the space feel coherent yet interesting with each little detail. Each surface is Carrara marble, from the floor, to the counters, and the tiling in the shower. Plumbing and appliances are all from Ferguson Showroom's custom line "Mirabelle." Transformed a very 1980's bathroom that was in peach and green into a beautiful contemporary modern bathroom. Remove the deck tub with a larger shower and free standing tub. The tile in the shower is porcelain in 32" x 32" that looks like marble. The vanity countertop material is quartz from Cambria with a unique diamond style backsplash in marble. The floor are 12" x 24" porcelain tile in a staggered pattern. The wall color is a beautiful grayish; Dunn Edwards/Cloud. Removed corner units above the vanity and full length mirrors and replaced them with metal framed mirrors, adding sconces. The vanity is custom made. I designed it to give my clients the most storage possible. There are pullouts under each sink and a shelf above that with a cut out for the plumbing, to give my clients even more storage.

Shower features (from top to bottom) 3" x 6" carrera marble, 1-1/2" chair rail, (4) rows of Mosaic, 1-in. pencil, 12" x 12" marble, with 2" x 2" honed marble on the shower floor. Fixtures and hardware are polished chrome. The recessed niche was sized for shampoo bottles and has mosaics for its back. The corner seat is a piece of 1-1/4" marble, measuring 18" x 18". The Bathroom layout is open and linear. A long vanity with medicine cabinet storage above is opposite full height Walnut storage cabinets. A new wet room with plaster and marble tile walls has a shower and a custom marble soaking tub.
