“These fire bowls are as close as you will find to an authentic scalding kettle found on old southern plantations. I think up north they call them sugar kettles. There is a hole in the bottom so water doesn't collect in the bowl. I think they also have them configured for propane. I first saw them at a dinner party in Aiken, SC. They had three and each one was on a unique antique stand and they are fabulous. We just built a traditional southern home and this is exactly what we had in mind for outside the screen porch. We used houzz for much of the design inspiration and wanted the house to have an authentic Old South feel.
