The portrait is displayed prominently in our dining room and attracts many positive comments. The most frequent observation is how perfectly her portrait captures Jake's personality and spunky spirit. This is where Barbara's art really stands out: the sense of spirit she conveys in all of her work (dog paintings, landscapes and mixed-media collages). Any trained artist can capture a likeness, but spirit is elusive. In addition to collecting Barbara's work, I've also collaborated with her on various creative and business projects over the years. Barbara is a trusted colleague and a dear friend.”

“I am the lucky recipient of this tile blacksplash. Nearing the end of a LONG kitchen renovation, I saw that I wanted to create a focal point with the backsplash that would "pop". The artist was able to recommend a painting in her collection that was already in panoramic style. It had the golds and reds and yellows in it that really tied it together nicely with the cabinetry. I loved it. The artist was able to photoshop how the painted tiles would look in my space - how cool is that? She promised delivery of the painted tiles in three weeks and beat that timeframe. She worked with the tileman, providing him a swatch for the grout color. And did you see in the photo that she even hand-painted the electrical faceplate to blend in? This turned out to be one of the best experiences of the whole project for me. Working with Dorothy Fagan was easy. Her expertise and flexibility allowed me to customize this space ... and look at beautiful art while I'm doing dishes!”
