I am trying to design an "armoire" look for a 36" frig. Do you have any additional pics for inspiration? - I love this refrigerator. I have a 36" frig with only 42" of space and am struggling to come up with a design. Any pics, advice or help would be greatly appreciated. This one is stunning! »
John Kraemer & Sons All of the refrigerator panels we do our 100% custom. In fact, this one was custom designed by Charlie Simmons of Charlie & Co. Design to keep within the Federal Style Architecture of the existing home. There is another photo of this refrigerator in the gallery, if you'd like to check it out. We also have many more examples in our other galleries on Houzz as well. Have a great day!
could you please me if the backsplash is cararra marble, and if it is, is it subway tile or solid cararra. Tha - Could you please tell me if the backsplash is cararra marble, and if it is, is it subway tile or solid cararra. Thanks so much! »
John Kraemer & Sons The clients wanted the refrigerator to look like a furniture piece. In fact, most of our clients request this look. Thanks for your inquiry.
John Kraemer & Sons Yes, but you would probably want to use a shallower beam detail and smaller chandeliers. We do many main floors with 9 foot ceilings, and it looks great. Thanks, and have a nice weekend!
John Kraemer & Sons It's a Walnut door with a custom blend of stains. It was custom designed and made specifically for this client, so you will not be able to purchase it anywhere, Builder's Choice Cabinets in Minneapolis, MN built it. Thanks!
kseipel I used a 15 year sealer on my granite. Beginning stages of a new kitchen and would like to incorporate marble, do you use a sealer on it as well?
John Kraemer & Sons The refrigerator panels were custom made by a local Minneapolis cabinet maker, and the stain is a custom blend. Thanks, and good luck!
can you give me some ideas for accessories above kitchen cabinets..there is 11 inches between the cabinets and the ceiling. I have traditional tastes but I want my kitchen to be fun and cheerful. »
lyser80 Lighting. Add lighting. If you have a trim above your cabinets, you can tuck in rope lighting which adds a nice mood to the room and creates it's own visual attractiveness. Anything (vases, pottery, etc) else will gather dust, look busy and clutter the space.
What are the finishes & makers of the cabinet hardware and the farm sink faucet? Also what is the color of the celing paint? Beautiful kitchen. Thank you in advance for your response. »
John Kraemer & Sons Hello there! The Hardware is from Colonial Bronze. The sink is a Shaw's Farm Sink. The ceiling color is Benjamin Moore - White Dove. The refrigerator pulls are Rocky Mountain Hardware. Thanks, and good luck!
I have a island that I need to get the exact measurements of but I want 2 Murray Feiss chandeliers 30 inches in D and the person in the lighting store said for my island which is 8 ft by 4 ft and 10 feet high ceiling would be too large. These chandeliers I love the size of how big is this island? »
kseipel I think the chandeliers look amazing!! I love the color and the size. They really make the kitchen "pop"! I think the height of the ceilings (12 ft) allow for the size to look great.
Cabinet Style - Is that what you would call Inset cabinets? I am in the early stages of building my forever home, and I think I could cook in this kitchen forever. Im trying to stay ahead with the big decisions one of which is cabinetry and countertops. Thanks! Any advice for me? »
Can you please provide and item/product number for the chandelier? - I have been to the Schonbek website and looked at the Sterling collection but none of them look like this chandelier. »
In my opinion, this is the most beautiful and classic kitchen on houzz!
I saw that the hardware is from colonial bronze, but could you tell me the exact ones and which finish? Also, is it okay to mix a bronze hardware with the nickel faucet as a rule? You mentioned the ceiling color is Benjamin Moore white dove, are the cabinets the same color? And by chance do you know the fabric used on the banquette? I love it! Are the sconces by it also from schonbek? Were the island chandeliers done in the bronze? And which model are they? Also, i love the island counter, what is it? Is there a granite that you might suggest that would give a similar feel at a level 1 price? I am also curious about wall color... Our kitchen will connect to the family room and would love an opinion on what you think would look nice.
We had a house fire 8 months ago and are finally rebuilding and I want my kitchen to be as close to this as possible. It is just perfect! Thank you!!! »
1. Architectural details. Traditional kitchens focus on the details in all areas. There's a bit of embellishment or adornment everywhere you look, but the best traditional kitchens just feel layered rather than overbearing. Speaking of details, this kitchen has it all — arches, moldings, beam ceilings, framed and raised-panel cabinets, a custom hood surround, chandeliers, furniture-style cabinets and, of course, island legs. Note how each area has detailing: the island's turned legs, the dark paneled wood piece in the front that's probably hiding a refrigerator, the shape and moulding of the custom hood surround. And all that is in addition to the raised panels, the flush inset cabinets and the box-beam ceiling.
Legs. Dress up a center island with decorative legs at the corners. The decorative leg in this kitchen is also a partner to the countertop detail. Notice how the countertop was carried out and around the top of the leg, creating another detail. Although a decorative leg may be just be the detail you're looking for, keep in mind that you will need additional funds. Not only will the detailed leg cost something, but your countertop square footage will have to increase, adding to your overall cost.

chairs instead of bar stools; also chairs facing a view in the kitchen..chandeliers are beaustiful; lots of storage space and double sinks in the kitchen
