matt376 Looks mostly like Calcutta Gold Marble second guess would be Carrara. Our Calcutta looks very similar just with less veining. Hope that's helpful.
Rebekah Zaveloff | KitchenLab That's called a wood drip edge or drip rail. I believe...though I don't actually know the official historical term, but that's how we refer to it. It's decorative in some cases, and functional in others. It can hide shims to raise the sink, or it's to prevent water from running down the face of the cabinets.
what type of molding is used to encase the windown - i'm currently in the process of changing my existing victorian molding to something cleaner and thinner as is currently too wide around the windows in a small space. I would like to keep to the victorian theme and this was appealing. »
Cabinet Height - Would you mind sharing the overall height from floor to ceiling and the height of the upper cabinet including the crown molding? Thanks very much! »
Let's start with marble as a traditional kitchen countertop. The luxurious white marble with the functional farmhouse sink is a nice high-low combination.
1. What’s the application? Marble is a natural product, so no matter what the application, it will change, age and wear over time. If you plan to use it on a floor, expect signs of wear from foot traffic. On a countertop like this, you'll want to address any concerns you have about about staining and rusting.
SHGC (solar heat-gain coefficient): How much solar radiation a window allows through it. The lower the SHGC, the less solar heat it transmits, which is good on warm days; the higher the SHGC, the more solar heat it allows, which is good on cold days. So choosing the right SHGC rating depends on your climate and the window's location and any shading, says the U.S. Department of Energy.
