what's the best position for 12x24 in a small bath? vertical/horizontal? - I have 5x8 bathroom w/same set up as this one. I don't want the bath to look smaller. Would my bath look smaller if I also used 12x24 on the outside bathroom walls? thank you... »
ladyrolx12 Where can i order the glass from for the cabinets in the wall. I have cabinets like that now with wooden doors but I would like to change and have glass. Please advise. Thank you in advance

it is usually so, that such solution of a hlas installed on a tube is just a suplementary one to a full-size shower located in e.g. another bathroom. It is a compromise in favor of looks rather than usability. Another reason is, that a two-element glass is way more mechanically unstabile and expensive (therefore usually seen as a preferred solution in budget hotels ;-)... There is no other special 'philosophy' behind such solution up to my kowledge. Greetings from Germany,
Toronto Interior Design Group | Yanic Simard Hello, we have had so many questions and it's hard to keep up sometimes but we do our best! If you have a particular question feel free to contact our office at info@tidg.ca as we are able to monitor and go through those e-mails more frequently. Thank you!
firefightra Camilia - Yes, we are fortunate...California is a long way away. Hopefully, you can get the tile at a decent price. You have the name of the tile, maybe you can see if your local tile stores can get it or if they have it. We did have a hard time finding similar tile; but, if you get the sample you may be in luck trying to find it or something similar somewhere else. As for posting our bathroom, well it will be similar to this one! We did a couple differences, though. We went with the cadillac of bath tubs and splurged on a fantastic, jetted, whirlpool tub....can you say "Ahhhh." We also didn't have room to do the glass cupboard/shelf unit on the wall beside the tub; so, to carry the glass theme we had a glass countertop made for us that matched our existing glass bowl sink. My husband will make the vanity himself too, so that should complete the look! I can't wait for it to be done. Take care and good-luck!
Toronto Interior Design Group | Yanic Simard Yes - through many glass suppliers however it needs to be custom cut to fit the space. And make sure it's tempered!
how is the reach & splash - I have a similar layout, tub next to toilet.. don't want a curtain, wondering about reaching in to turn water on/off, drain tub & cleaning.. and wondering about splashing water out »
d jimenez was taken back by its simplicity and beauty i didn't think of your wise question. on reflection i myself would consider making it a swing door with strong but discreet hinges as not to loss the simplicity. thanks for your question. i would have created the half glass and then kicked myself for not seeing a potential "really" problem.
slinger99 I have used this type of half glass tub/shower in Europe. If you want to run the water to make sure it is nice and warm before you get in, it will be hard to reach in with the glass there to turn on the water. The water does splash out unless you point the shower head close to the end with the faucet and toward the long wall. Totally impractical is what I would call it. You can get it with a hinged glass but most installations I see are fixed glass which would be more secure.
On the other hand, if you want a walk-in shower without tub, I've seen an "L" shaped glass used effectively. The short arm of the L keeps the water from splashing out. The look is simple and clean, no door or curtain.
Toronto Interior Design Group | Yanic Simard The sink and counter came together from a company called Ronbow (http://www.ronbow.com/) which is available through many bath retails such as Roman Bath here in Toronto.
Toronto Interior Design Group | Yanic Simard Yes the tub is the Adora Azzura from Mirolin, available at most major plumbing retailers. http://www.azzurabath.com/60_adora.html

Chuck Gregory there are certain code requirements that must be met (or suggested) in bathroom design. I believe from the center of the toilet bowl to the edge of the vanity must be at least 18". It does look a little closer, however, from this image.

Shower faucet and frosted glass doors ? - Beautiful small bathroom ! Do you mind sharing shower faucet maker/model and whether frosted glass doors were custom built ? »
Toronto Interior Design Group | Yanic Simard Thank you! The faucet on the vanity is from the Upton line from TOTO and the shower fixtures from the Aquia line (TOTO as well). And yes the frosted cabinet door was custom. Hope this helps!
joycesp I've had partial glass enclosures and had the same concerns at first, but I'm happy to say that spilling was never a problem. It probably also has to do a lot with the shower head placement, so that's something to keep in mind!
Toronto Interior Design Group | Yanic Simard Hi Rao2000 - this homeowner has has no problems with the glass enclosure and water coming out - and thanks to Joyce for the great input as well, great answer!
Toronto Interior Design Group | Yanic Simard The tub is the Adora Azzura from Mirolin, available at most major plumbing retailers. http://www.azzurabath.com/60_adora.html and we did the enclosure about half way and from the tub surface to the ceiling
By chance do you know the name of the distributor / importer of the tile used on the shower and floor? - I,m in California and I cannot locate the tile :( Exceptional bath BTW ... thank you for posting this! »
traciel In an earlier response, it was noted that the tile was from Deco Tile. The the first Deco Tile is has just opened in Orange County, if this the same company.
firefightra We just bought this tile from Deco Tile in Toronto. The owner told us that he ships anywhere in the world. You can go to decotile.ca and give the owner a shout if you're still looking for the tile.
Toronto Interior Design Group | Yanic Simard Dance2surf - the vanity and top are from Ronbow, carried by most bath retailers. Roman Bath carries it http://romanbathcentre.com/

DND Services Or install a digital shower/bath filler where all you need do is press the button mounted outside the shower! When the light stops flashing it's at the perfect temperature and in you step...
BeautifulRemodel.com rjknauf: we typically rough in the main valve to be on the opposite wall, so you can turn the water on before you enter. A little more work but well worth it imo. regarding the above photo: if the valve is set to "tub" not shower, then its not going to soak you in cold water when you first turn it on
How is the glass panel attached to the tub? - Hi,
I'm doing a similar tub/glass panel installation on an upcoming job. I was wondering how you attached the glass to the tub and if any additional reinforcement was needed below the rim of the tub to support the glass. Is the tub acrylic or cast iron?
Many thanks,
Pete »
tiles - I love this bathroom and would like to know what stone the tiles are made of and the color of the stone for the foor and the wall. Would also like to know dimensions for floor and wall. Thanks »

Small Space Bathroom tub and shower arrangement - This is a beautiful arrangement, and I would love to have something similar in my space, but I am wondering, how do you keep water from spilling out all over the floor when you use either the shower head or the hand held spray? »
Patty Scott Instead of installing the fixed glass toward the head of the tub, I'd prefer to place toward foot of tub so one can adjust water temp before stepping under the shower. Since shower head generally angles toward foot of tub there shouldn't be anymore spray/splashing with that alteration of design. Anyone have opinion on this?
otis9otis Who makes this bathtub? We are looking for a shower/tub combo that is 4' long. We might be able to expand the space to 4.5'. Any suggestions for a tub/shower combo?

Why a dark vanity? - I have a similar size bathroom except toilet and 24" vanity are reversed and I want to use a shower curtain. The side of the vanity is visible when you enter the room. Would a dark colored vanity "stick out" too much as opposed to say a white one that would blend in? »
I like the combination of tub and shower stall and the quiet materials. Sophisticated but not over the top.
I want simple plumbing fixtures -- not the rain showerhead and hand piece. Water pressure is important.
