Aquatica True Ofuro Black Freestanding Stone Japanese Soaking Bathtub Since it was first introduced, Aquatica’s Ofuro series has proved very popular, due in large part to its inspiration – the ancient traditions of Japanese bathing. Modern-day bathers love the ability to sit and soak in this superb, contemporary interpretation of olden-style Japanese wooden tub, which provides bathers with a perfectly designed, sculpted bath with internal seat and elevated rim for neck and head support, in which they can immerse themselves up to their neck. Now, the True Ofuro offers bath lovers one more exciting option – the choice of Graphite Black using our award-winning and ground-breaking AquateX™ solid surface composite, around which to create your stunning new bathroom décor. Ofuro is also available with an optional inline water heater and digital control panel with temperature display, which will reduce water consumption and provide for a prolonged soaking experience at very comfortable temperatures. Thanks to the AquateX™ material, this Japanese soaking tub retains heat for much longer and has a silky and smooth surface. Besides being one of our most space conscious bathtubs, the freestanding and petite construction of this Japanese style bathtub means that it can be installed pretty much anywhere in your bathroom.

In this project the homeowners wanted to achieve a larger shower, better storage and more vanity space, as well as retain a tub. They also wanted a better integration of the master bath & bedroom. The preferred aesthetic was a warm, comfortable, spa-like space. This quickly led to the concept of a Japanese bath. As the design work began, there was a necessity to bring a soothing sound of flowing water into the bath. The spa feel was further enhanced with the incorporation of teak vanities, stone tile, a Japanese soaking tub and Shoji screen inspired door to the water closet. This relaxing theme flowed into the bedroom with a consistent color scheme and Asian influenced hardware on the cabinetry. FotoGrafik Arts FotoGrafik Arts

The Two-Person Japanese Soaking Tub from DiamondSpas.com was made out of stainless steel and at 4' high it requires two steps behind the tub to enter/exit. The tub fills from the ceiling for added drama! Don't worry about bathing in front of the window, as the window glass fogs with the switch of a light.

Upon moving to a new home, this couple chose to convert two small guest baths into one large luxurious space including a Japanese soaking tub and custom glass shower with rainfall spout. Two floating vanities in a walnut finish topped with composite countertops and integrated sinks flank each wall. Due to the pitched walls, Barbara worked with both an industrial designer and mirror manufacturer to design special clips to mount the vanity mirrors, creating a unique and modern solution in a challenging space. The mix of travertine floor tiles with glossy cream wainscotting tiles creates a warm and inviting feel in this bathroom. Glass fronted shelving built into the eaves offers extra storage for towels and accessories. A oil-rubbed bronze finish lantern hangs from the dramatic ceiling while matching finish sconces add task lighting to the vanity areas. This project was featured in Boston Magazine Home Design section entitiled "Spaces: Bathing Beauty" in the March 2018 issue.
