Breathe Design Studio
Our Austin studio designed this gorgeous town home to reflect a quiet, tranquil aesthetic. We chose a neutral palette to create a seamless flow between spaces and added stylish furnishings, thoughtful decor, and striking artwork to create a cohesive home. We added a beautiful blue area rug in the living area that nicely complements the blue elements in the artwork. We ensured that our clients had enough shelving space to showcase their knickknacks, curios, books, and personal collections. In the kitchen, wooden cabinetry, a beautiful cascading island, and well-planned appliances make it a warm, functional space. We made sure that the spaces blended in with each other to create a harmonious home.

Side Street Suite is a contemporary 640-square-foot accessory dwelling unit (ADU) that sits perched among trees in Minneapolis. The homeowner is an empty nester who no longer desired to inhabit a 2,700 square feet home. A unique solution was to build a one-bedroom ADU in the backyard of his rental duplex.
The ADU feels much larger than would seem possible thanks to strategically placed glass on all exterior walls and roof. The home is expanded with unique views which in turn create a dynamic experience of the path of sunlight over the course of the day. The kitchen is compact yet well-appointed, offering most of the amenities of a larger home, albeit in more compact form. The bedroom is flanked by a walk-in closet and a full bathroom containing a combination washer/dryer. Playful, bold colors enliven the interiors: blue stair treads and wood handrail and blue quartz countertop. Exterior materials of composite wood siding and cement board panels were chosen for low-maintenance and durability.
Bikers passing by the property often give the owner a thumbs-up, indicative of neighborhood enthusiasm and support for “building small.”

Upon entering the newly defined entry, one is confronted with a restrained palette of a refined and juxtaposing material palette. Floors are Mapei. The kitchen counter is Calacatta Oro. Hot rolled steel clads the fireplace and the media cabinet. Poliform furniture completes the living room furnishings. All of these elements are captured by a continuous olive wood ceiling that unites the spaces. Photos by Chen + Suchart Studio LLC

Drewett Works
The living room showcases such loft-inspired elements as exposed trusses, clerestory windows and a slanting ceiling. Wood accents, including the white oak ceiling and eucalyptus-veneer entertainment center, lend earthiness. Family-friendly, low-profile furnishings in a cozy cluster reflect the homeowners’ preference for organic Contemporary design.
Featured in the November 2008 issue of Phoenix Home & Garden, this "magnificently modern" home is actually a suburban loft located in Arcadia, a neighborhood formerly occupied by groves of orange and grapefruit trees in Phoenix, Arizona. The home, designed by architect C.P. Drewett, offers breathtaking views of Camelback Mountain from the entire main floor, guest house, and pool area. These main areas "loft" over a basement level featuring 4 bedrooms, a guest room, and a kids' den. Features of the house include white-oak ceilings, exposed steel trusses, Eucalyptus-veneer cabinetry, honed Pompignon limestone, concrete, granite, and stainless steel countertops. The owners also enlisted the help of Interior Designer Sharon Fannin. The project was built by Sonora West Development of Scottsdale, AZ.
Windows Dressed Up
Vertical blinds come in many styles. These window panels are panel track blinds or sliding panel blinds. Note that they are not the typical width of a vertical blind, but telescoping panels that will disappear into themselves to allow more of the outside in. Vertical window blinds are used for large window arrays and sliding doors. Note that this fabric is a screen shade solar fabric with an Openness Factor (see solar / screen shade pics). Screen shade fabric allows visibility to the exterior, vs a solid fabric shade with an Opacity rating up to blackout shades. Vertiglide blinds, Skyline blinds are just some of the custom vertical blinds available. Motorized blinds too.
Windows Dressed Up window treatment store featuring blinds, shutters and shades in Denver services the metro area, including Parker, Castle Rock, Boulder, Evergreen, Broomfield, Lakewood, Aurora, Thornton, Centennial, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Arvada, Golden, Westminster, Lone Tree, Greenwood Village, Wheat Ridge.

Remodeling and adding on to a classic pristine 1960’s ranch home is a challenging opportunity. Our clients were clear that their own sense of style should take precedence, but also wanted to honor the home’s spirit. Our solution left the original home as intact as possible and created a linear element that serves as a threshold from old to new. The steel “spine” fulfills the owners’ desire for a dynamic contemporary environment, and sets the tone for the addition. The original kidney pool retains its shape inside the new outline of a spacious rectangle. At the owner’s request each space has a “little surprise” or interesting detail.
