Thank you for your reply. It is a very tricky room as it serves as an entry to the garage, a side door entrance, a back door entrance and a laundry room! Yikes. I don't have a rough plan but I do have additional photos. Thank you!

did someone take out some walls a long the way? wow! i would build a pony coming of the fire place, running parallel with the washer dryer wall. also i would paint those closet doors white.

That is actually a great suggestion although I was hoping to have the tv higher up from the floor for various reasons. We just purchased the home but we were told it was built like that! Thank you very much for the reply and photo!

Agreed about the closet doors! we plan on painting walls and closet doors for sure.

I think I would put a full wall there. Who wants to look at a bathroom and laundry from the living room?

Adding the dividing wall to the right of the wood stove. Mounting the TV to the new wall.

You could put it on a tv stand that has a back, and put it against the ktchen rails. Or hang a quilt if that is your style over the kitchen rails to hide the back of the TV. If you dont care about having those rails, you could have a contractor drywall over them and it would easily make an extra wall without decreasing space in the room. It might help in the kitchen too, you could put a bar over that area.
