Don't know how old your daughter is but if over 5 I would ask what she would want , it is her room after all.

Together, you could decorate a wooden letter that her name begins with. Depending on how large the letter is, that might be enough as it is a rather small space. OR move the chalkboard up a notch and hang a bulletin board for her to use with her desk.

I live what your doing! I like the idea suggested above of chalk board paint. But If only do it on the left little ledge wall beside the desk. Not wrapping around anywhere else. You don't want it to be too dark. Above your cute little frame chalk board add this scrabble print. I thought it stuck with the look you were going for while adding a modern touch. The smallest sizes are 8×10 and 12×10 but there also larger sizes. Try to do something that closely resemble the width if the chalkboard. Above tat add this small follow your heart print to the left and a tiny circular mirror to the right. That ought to be just enough. I do still really like the idea of a small chalk board wall!

What color in black would be the chalkboard edge wall. And the other red shapes are the layout of the above products! :)

When you say "I would love a gallery wall," what are you imagining? i.e., do you just like the idea, or do you have things you'd like to hang? This seems like a great place to hang some of her own art, or a few special photographs, but otherwise I hate to see somebody densely clutter a perfectly nice restful space just to be doing it...
